SOLD - Scarce Iraqi Tariq - Beretta M1951

2/23/26 - This is a scarce 9mm Iraqi Tariq, a license built copy of the Beretta M1951. Rollmarked “TARIQ 9 m/m IRAQ, or Licensed by BERETTIA”, with the frame serial “31373439” visible on the left side of the frame. The left-side of the slide is marked with the standard Arabic Tariq factory inscription in the Diwani-style script, which the Silah Report translates as “Tariq - 9 mm Caliber - Al-Qadisiyah Establishments - Iraq.” The pistol is further marked “DISASSEMB” with an arrow at the takedown latch. The pistol is in fair condition, showing substantial handling/carry wear, and what appears to be post-service brightening or polishing. Visible linear buffing artifacts on the flats, scattered scratches and rub marks, general high edge wear, and small areas of oxidation/discoloration (especially around high spots, transitions, and the front grip strap). The bore is shiny, but the rifling is slightly worn, and light fouling is present throughout. It comes with one original single-stack Tariq magazine, which shows minor finish loss and surface oxidation. Black ribbed synthetic panels feature an inset round medallion, showing light scuffs and handling marks, but no major cracks, chips, or repairs. The unique grips feature General Tariq ibn Ziyad's profile on opposing medallions on the panels. General Tariq was the conqueror of Visigothic Spain in 711 AD. The 9mm version is a direct licensed copy of the M1951 or Beretta M1951 Brigadier. These pistols were carried by the Iraqi Republican Guard.
