11/17/25 - The Marlin 39A-DL series was produced in very limited quantities between 1960 and 1963. This particular rifle was manufactured in 1961 and is one of 1,937 produced that year. This rare model is also known as a "Squirrel" rifle because it came with a factory engraved squirrel on the butt stock. This rifle has all the unique features associated with an original deluxe model. Such as, a "U" prefix in the serial number, matching serial number on stock and receiver, factory-installed sling swivels, checkered forearm and butt stock, engraved squirrel, a 24" long barrel with "Golden 39-A" and "JM" stamps. This low serial numbered rifle has an excellent finish that rates about 98%. It still retains the factory scope rail on top of the receiver. The wood furniture has virtually no wear. The bore is super clean and rates a 9.5 of 10. Smooth action and fully functional.
