Description
3/26/26- For sale is a shortened British P1913 bayonet that has been converted into a fighting knife. Popular belief associates these knives with the French Foreign Legion and they were known to be used in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, but no information has been found about these being officially issued. The blade is about 7 inches long and Parkerized, with the fuller reaching to the very end of the blade. There is a clipped Bowie style point on the blade that is still quite sharp. There is some grinding and sharpening on the blade that likely happened before it was Parkerized. The base of the blade is marked "1913 5 17" with the Remington logo, identifying it as a P13 bayonet made in May 1917 by Remington. The handle is intact with no chipping or cracking and has the distinctive grooves in the grip. The scabbard is a shortened leather scabbard with metal fittings with no serious wear or damage. The frog appears to be a replacement. Overall in excellent condition.
