Description
3/16/26- For sale is an uncommon 1927 dated Seitengewehr II bayonet, a variant that would be developed into the model III that was famously used on the K98 throughout WW2. The blade is blued and has some mild wear and patina from scabbard wear and general aging. One side of the bayonet is stamped "W.u.K.". The spine is stamped "27" indicating production in 1927, the first year of new bayonet production after WWI. The guard is unit marked. The grips are Bakelite, most likely indicating a later replacement. The pommel is stamped "su25" which was the Weimar era arsenal code for Spandau. There is no scabbard. Overall in very good condition and a rare early bayonet.
