Description

02/05/26 - For sale is a National Postal Meter M1 Carbine assembled with a Union Switch & Signal Receiver. National Postal Meter had a contract of 50,000 Receivers to be made by Union Switch & Signal and they were denoted by the "U" stamped on the bevel of the receiver. The rifle had been rebuilt after the war at Raritan Arsenal. The metal has a bright parkerized finish with wear only on the sldie travel. The stock is in great shape with minor scuffs on the surface. The stock is stamped HI in the sling well and there is an RA-P stamp on the bottom of the grip. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The barrel is stamped Inland 4-43. The parts within the rifle are a mix of makers.
