Description
9/19/25- For sale is a German army winter fur hat. After the Germans were famously unprepared for the Russian winter of 1941-42, new winter gear was quickly developed and deployed in the fall and winter of 1942, resulting in non-standard winter hat patterns. This particular hat looks like it has the exterior of a standard German field cap with a winter liner. The standard field caps were likely used as a base before the side flaps and fur were added. The cap does not have the army insignia so it was made in the factory originally as a winter hat. A metal cap badge has also been inserted into the fur section of the hat so that the wearer is identifiable with the fur folded up. All the stitching is intact and tight and the fur is still soft and warm. Overall in very good condition.
