Description

2/18/26- For sale is an unusual WKC "Behorden" bayonet with scabbard and frog. This bayonet is marked "W.K.C." on one side and unmarked on the other side, meaning it has a commercial maker mark with no military serial number, wartime manufacturer code, or year mark. These unmarked "W.K.C." bayonets are commonly thought to have been diverted from the military production lines and issued to the civil authorities, therefore the "Behorden" designation. There is also speculation that these bayonets may have been made in subsidiary factories potentially attached to the forced labor programs of WW2 but this is not confirmed. The blade is generally dark, maintaining most of the original bluing. There is some wear and loss of finish concentrated towards the tip of the blade. The blade does not appear to have ever been sharpened. One side of the blade has the "W.K.C." commercial marking and no other blade marks. The grips are a brownish Bakelite with no notable cracks or chips. The scabbard is nice, with most of the original finish intact and no serious scrapes or dents. There is some patina and light rust concentrated under the frog, indicating long-term storage and some leather water retention. The scabbard is not marked or serialized. The frog is slightly worn but all stitching appears tight and intact. Overall in very good condition.
