Description
10/15/25- For sale is a German WWI ersatz bayonet with a nice unit marking. The ersatz bayonets were issued to equip Germany's rapidly expanding military in the early years of WWI before traditional bayonet production could catch up. The blade has wear and patina but no serious damage, although it does look to have been slightly sharpened at some point. The handle is all metal and similarly discolored but undamaged. The unit marking is on the crossguard and appears to read, at least in part, L.R.L.J.R.3. which could indicate issue to the Landwehr or a Jaeger Regiment. The scabbard is painted but has significant scratching and paint loss, with probably 25% of paint missing, but no dents or serious damage. Overall in good condition.
