Description
3/5/26- For sale is an unusual K98 dress bayonet. The general shape and appearance of the bayonet are correct but there are some details that are slightly different. The tip of the blade is double edged for about an inch, with the thick spine of the bayonet narrowed down to a blade point. The rest of the blade appears to have then been plated, likely in nickel. The bird head on the pommel is more pronounced than usual and there is a slight dip along the top of the pommel rather than a smooth curve. The blade itself is unmarked and shows some wear, including a bit of lost finish or plating. The textured black handle is intact with no cracking or chipping. The pommel is oddly shaped as discussed and has some wear to it, either polishing or natural wear. The black scabbard has wear and paint loss but no serious damage. The leather frog is aged but intact. Overall in good condition.
