Description
7/21/25 - The following is a very nice example of a U.S. M1 helmet. The exterior of the helmet is very clean and has most of the original olive drab paint on it. There are areas of wear, especially around the dome and brim which appear to have been touched up with paint that was applied later and some chipping in the paint on the right side by the brim. The interior of the metal shell has almost all of its original paint and one small section of rust in the dome. The interior metal has also been marked "Lunceford" for identification. The inner shell exterior appears to have been completely repainted a slightly darker color. The interior of the shell is very clean and has the full canvas system including the leather headband. The short part of the chinstrap is also still intact but the long piece is missing.
