Description
11/4/25- For sale is an American M1917 Brodie helmet. After America's entry into WWI, the US adopted various Allied pieces of equipment to avoid having to redevelop all the necessary equipment from scratch. One of these items was the British Brodie helmet, adopted into US service as the M1917. This helmet maintains most of the exterior paint and has a rough textured surface to prevent reflection of light. There is a painted divisional emblem at the front but the paint has hardened and cracked to the point that the emblem is not clearly visible. The interior of the helmet has the same dark paint with signs of rubbing wear, dirt, or other discoloration under the liner. The original leather and string liner is present but heavily worn, leaving mostly just the headband and wool pad at the top of the helmet. There is a ZD 66T stamp on the rim, indicating American production. Overall in fair condition.
