Description
4/13/26- For sale is a very nice Japanese sword with NTHK certification papers. The NTHK (Nihon Token Hozon Kai) is formally translated to “The Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Sword” and was established in 1910 during the Meiji Period, making it much older than the NBTHK. The NTHK exists to promote, study and preserve of the Japanese sword and related arts. This sword has been granted a Kanteisho certification, meaning it is authentic and worthy of preservation and study. Official papers also make any sword more valuable and collectible because it means the sword has been inspected and verified by some of the top experts in the world of Japanese swords.
The blade on this sword is very clean with only one small patch of surface corrosion and absolutely no rust or edge chipping. The handle fittings are all brass with images of birds and bamboo on them. The handle is traditionally wrapped with silk over a textured leather. The scabbard is plain bamboo with a leather cover, a style often used during the WW2 era for swords carried into combat. Overall in excellent condition and a great collectible piece!
