Description
3/18/26- For sale is a German air raid helmet, commonly known as the Gladiator model because of the slightly unusual profile. These helmets were worn by civilians and air raid wardens in Germany for protection during the increasingly frequent bombing raids of WW2. The helmet exterior has most of the original paint with mild wear and patina but no dents or other serious damage. The Luftschutz is mostly intact, with only one or two small scrapes and one spot of what looks like paint. The helmet interior has similar paint and wear as the exterior. The back rim has decals indicating that the helmet is produced according to official air raid regulations, listing the size, and specifying a maximum price allowed on the civilian market. The liner is well-aged and appears original. The chinstrap is included and intact, although it has come loose from the liner on one side. Overall in excellent condition.
