Description
9/19/25- For sale is a German army winter fur hat. After the Germans were famously unprepared for the Russian winter of 1941-42, new winter gear was quickly developed and deployed in the fall and winter of 1942, resulting in non-standard winter hat patterns. This particular hat looks like it has the exterior of a standard German field cap with a winter liner. The standard field caps were likely used as a base before the side flaps and fur were added. There is a 1943 date stamp inside. The cap does not have the army insignia so it was made in the factory originally as a winter hat. All the stitching is intact and tight and the fur is still soft and warm. Overall in very good condition.
