Description
2/12/26- For sale is a Luftwaffe proofed broken shell extractor tool for the MG81 airborne machine gun. The MG81 was a derivative of the MG34 that was adopted as a lightweight fast firing gun for bomber defense or rear gunners on dive bombers. This extractor tool is shaped almost like an MG81 bolt and has a similar bolt head, but with no firing pin. This armorer's tool was used to retrieve broken shells from the mechanism, especially when it couldn't be fully accessed with other tools or with hands. There is some mild patina on the metal but no rust or serious damage. The bolt head will slot an 8mm Mauser round securely. The spring loaded locking lever is functional and the bolt head can be inserted and removed easily. The tool has the markings "dfl" and "k", along with the Luftwaffe eagle 2 proof. Overall in very good condition and a rare WW2 piece.
