Description
9/26/25 - This is a WWII US Marine Corps KA-BAR fighting knife. These iconic knives were used throughout WWII and Vietnam for general utility and combat. They performed exceptionally well in both functions, which helped make these remaining examples among the most collectible edge weapons in history. This particular example has been heavily buffed throughout, leading to a totally smoothed over, bare metal finish. Additionally, the buffing is so drastic that it has totally removed the "USMC" marking that should be stamped into one side. The other side does have proper the "Ka-Bar" marking, but it is very faded. The rest of the knife is entirely smooth with buffing artifacts throughout. However, the general blade profile is mostly maintained, and the edge is remarkably sharp throughout. The leather handle is fairly worn with missing material in a few places, and there is handling and age-related wear throughout. It can still be smoothly and comfortably gripped without issue. Handguard has very slight play. Comes with leather sheath which is in good condition, but does show surface scuffing and handling wear throughout, as well as a "FV" etched into the back leather.
