Description
1/7/25 - This is a great example of a US M1 Helmet from WW2. This particular example has a white camo paint scheme. While we cannot guarantee the age of this paint. This paint has become more yellowed with age and could be from WW2. White painted M1 helmets came into use during the Ardennes Forest campaign and during the Battle of the Bulge. The shell of this helmet is an early model of the M1 helmet as this shell has what is referred to as "fixed bales". The attachment points for the chinstrap on this helmet are welded to the shell and do not swivel like the later variants. This shell has the proper stainless steel front seam rim. This shell was most likely produced by the Carnegie-Illinois & Sharon Steel Corporations between 1941 and 1943. This shell does have some small dents in the top. This helmet comes with a correct WW2 era helmet liner that is also painted in the white camo paint scheme. The liner still has its leather retention band that goes around the front of the helmet. The webbing inside the helmet is in good condition, but the leather is starting to crack and tear in some locations.
