Description
1/27/25 - This is an original WW1 production M1905 rifle bayonet made in 1917. Ideally for a M1903 rifle, but would also fit on a M1 Garand rifle. This example has a 16inch "uncut" blade (they were often cut down for use during WW2). The blade has a nice edge with light signs of sharpening. It does have some surface patina, dark discoloration, and finish loss throughout. The base of the blade is RIA maker stamped with a flaming bomb and 1917 date. The metal cross guard and pommel have dark patina. The wooden grips are in good shape, but the left scale does have a crack, see photos. Comes with an original canvas wrapped, rawhide scabbard with some honest surface wear and some fraying, with a small hole in the canvas cover near the bottom. The canvas is marked with the name "H. Strange".Specifications
