Description
1/30/25 - This is an good example of a WW2 German Police dress bayonet. Cut down and altered from a Weimar era bayonet, as is typically seen from these examples. The blade is in great condition with Alexander Coppel maker stamps on each side of the blade with some minor patina. The spine is police eagle K stamped, both the blade and the scabbard are stamped with "L. Ar. 157". The handle on this blade is in good condition and is made from stag antler. The original police eagle has been removed from the handle and replaced with a nazi eagle emblem with the phrase "Kreistag 1937". This most likely was done by the veteran who captured this bayonet, as the police eagles on these bayonets are fragile and often go missing or get damaged. The scabbard is original as well with some minor surface scuffs and a bulge right under the top metal piece.Specifications
