2/5/25 - This is a great example of a short 3-1/8″ P.38 barrel. Sometimes referenced as the “Gestapo” model, but this is only speculation. There is speculation as to if these shortened barrels were special post-factory modifications ordered by German Police and the Gestapo. However, the evidence for these is just speculation and has not been confirmed. If there was paperwork authorizing these, it was lost during the war. The shortening of this barrel was professionally done. This barrel is in great condition maintaining most of it's original finish. The bore on this barrel rates an 8/10 and has light pinpricking in the barrel.
