Description
3/16/23 - This is an original WW2 German ZF 4 scope with an original Walther proofed mount. The mount is original, but the locking arm / lever, and mechanism are post-war replacements. The mounting bands and screws are also post-war replacement. This is partially due to the darker colored finish and "newer" looking condition of these parts. The mount itself is an original, and has an eagle 359 military acceptance proof at the base. There are two serial numbers lightly etched on either side of the base as well, with one of the numbers being "41188" which is matching to the scope. We assume the other number "7221" was the number of the rifle this was originally paired with. Regardless, this is an original matching numbered mount which is highly desirable. The scope is in great shape with excellent optics. There's some very mild cloudiness around the edge of the optic (if you're being picky), but the reticle and visibility is clear and crisp overall. The original rubber lens shield has some surface cracking and a portion missing towards the base. The lens covers are leather and post-war production, but fit nicely. The scope has functional adjustment knobs and is marked with a blue triangle for colder conditions.Specifications
