Description
3/27/25 - This is a rare and Colt Cavalry Model Single Action Army revolver from 1874. It is completely matching and U.S. military accepted. It would have had a 7.5in barrel, but it has been cut down to 4.75in. It has very early Ainsworth 'A' inspection proofs throughout. Correct two-line patent date (Sept / July) on left side of frame. The top of the barrel has "+COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A." marking with the die break in the "o" in "Co.", and the left of the frame has the "U.S." martial marking. This gun has a post-factory nickel-plated finish, indicating it is a possible Indian Scout gun - we can't say for sure. Overall, this one is in fair condition for its age. But there is noticeable chipping in the nickel plating and oxidation in the same areas. Fitted with wood grips - chip in the bottom corner on the left side. The bore still has some rifling, but it shows noticeable spotty surface oxidation throughout. Smooth action and fully functional with all four "clicks". Comes with a fairly worn leather holster. No FFL required.Specifications
