Description
4/3/23 - This is an original German WW1 Imperial Officer Dress / Parade / Ceremonial Sword. The sword has a shiny nickel plated steel finish that's excellent throughout. There's some very mild cloudiness near the tip of the blade, but overall there's very minimal wear and no signs of misuse along the edge. Maker stamped by WKC on one side. The hand guard is engraved with an oak leaf pattern, and is dedicated to "Heinrich Wetzlar" on one side. We don't have any documentation or provenance to show this went to the "famous" Heinrich Wetzlar, but the dedication is interesting nonetheless. The handle has some mild surface wear and the wrapped chord is beginning to loosen, but is still intact. Typical surface patina throughout the hand guard. The original scabbard has surface patina and some mild paint loss, but great overall condition.Specifications
