Description
4/26/23 - This is an original, early variation Type 30 Japanese bayonet from WW2. The bayonet features a bright, fullered blade, hooked crossguard, two rivets in contoured wrap-around wood grips, flat bird's head pommel, and a tubular-tipped metal scabbard. This example also has an original leather frog, which is rare and desirable. The blade is excellent with a Jinsen Arsenal maker stamp on the base of the blade. There's very light speckling patina but no signs of sharpening or misuse. The hand guard and pommel have dark brown patina throughout the original blued finish. The grips are excellent. The scabbard shows typical patina but no dents or major issues. Cited in Labars book as a variation E bayonet.Specifications
