Description

5/1/23 - This is an original Japanese Type 30 rifle bayonet from WW2. The bayonet is stamped with a fairly scarce "Nagoya Triangle" stamp on the base of the blade, by Aisan Arsenal. The bayonet is referred to as a Variation A in Labar's book. The bayonet features an early bright, fullered blade, hooked cross guard, contoured wood grips with 2 screws and washers, bird's head pommel, and a metal ball-tipped scabbard. The blade is in great shape with some dark discoloration near the tip. The sharpened edge has some mild scratches and signs of use wear, but no excessive damage. The metal portions of the hilt are blued and in great condition with some mild surface patina and typical aging wear. Numbered and proofed on the pommel. The metal scabbard has a few small dents and dark surface patina throughout.
