5/9/25 - This is an original 1939-dated Luger hard shell holster, manufactured by G. WEISS of Braunschweig and marked on the back with both the maker’s stamp and a Waffenamt military acceptance mark (WaA330), along with the clear 1939 date imprint. Constructed of blackened leather with contrast stitching, this holster follows the standard military pattern for the P.08 Luger pistol, complete with a hard shell profile, internal spare tool pouch, and spare magazine compartment. It is in minty condition overall. The leather remains supple and well-preserved, with tight stitching and only minor surface wear consistent with honest field use. What sets this example apart is the addition of a large silver-colored Nazi eagle emblem mounted on the outer flap, featuring an Iron Cross and swastika motif within a wreath. This emblem is not original to the holster and appears to be a later addition, either for display purposes or added post-war by a collector.
