Description
10/8/24 - This is a fair example of a rare No. 5 Mk1, Type 2 bayonet for the British Enfield Jungle Carbine. The "Jungle Carbine" was developed in the later half of WW2 and was first issued to British Airborne troops in Norway towards the end of WW2. The term "Jungle Carbine" was coined by the British during the Malayan Emergency from 1948-1960. This bayonet was made by Wilkinson Sword Company of London. The blade on this bayonet is in fair condition with patina throughout the blade and some pitting towards the tip. The blade does still have it's original edge and was never sharpened. The blade is maker stamped towards the cross guard with "WSC" and is also inspection stamped on the reverse. The wraparound wooded handle scales are in great condition with only a few minor dents. The mechanism for lockup on the rifle is still functional and strong. The scabbard for this bayonet retains some of it's original black paint. The scabbard has no major dents and remains straight and fully functional.Specifications
