SOLD - German Police Tschako

6/29/22 - This is an original WW2 German Civilian Police Tschako (Shako). This example has a firm, green felt exterior with a hardened leather circular top. The front of the headpiece has an aluminum police eagle holding a swastika, surrounded by a wreath. There is some oxidation and patina throughout the wreath, eagle, and swastika. Most of the wear is found at the base of the wreath, swastika, and eagle wings. The green felt has a small moth hole on the front just above the visor, and the leather top has some surface wrinkling / cracking but no major issues. Above the eagle (Shako plate) is an oval aluminum cockade with a painted red center. There are two circular screened air vents on either side near the top. The original leather chin strap is attached and in great condition. The interior is fairly clean, despite some rips and small holes in the brown cloth liner. The light tan leather band is in great condition and size stamped "58".
