SOLD - Unslotted German Schutzpolizei Long Dress Bayonet

6/30/23 - This is an original WW2 German Police Dress Bayonet. The bayonet is in near excellent condition with a clean and shiny nickel-plated steel blade. There is some mild flaking near the edge and back spine of the blade, along with a few small areas of dark oxidation. The base of the blade is maker marked "E&F Horster" on one side, and the other side having their logo. The blade has an overall length of 33cm. The cross guard is decorated with an oak leaf pattern and shows typical patina and aging throughout without excessive wear. There's a "S.W.I. 673." inscription on one side of the cross guard, for Schutzpolizei Wiesbaden, and issue (or unit) number 673. The pommel is stylized with an eagle's head and has great detail throughout. The stag handle grips are in great condition as well with no notable issues. Comes with an original bayonet that has a few dents and some mild tarnishing on the metal mouth and toe, but is in very good overall condition. There's a separate unit marking on the scababrd, "S.D.I. 215.". Overall length (without the scabbard) is 44.5cm.
