Description
7/21/23 - This is an excellent WW1 era training rifle for the Springfield 1903. During the war, there was a severe shortage of rifles for the US Army, and those that were produced were sent immediately to the frontlines. The US would bring Krags out of storage to train on, but they were not ideal trainers for the 1903. To remedy this issue, these non-firing trainers were produced by the US Training Rifle Company in Philadelphia. The metal on the rifle retains about 85% of the finish, with some patina visible in a few spots on the bolt and receiver is fairly worn. The wood is in great condition, but there are a few chatter spots around the wrist area. This gun was designed not to fire and does not have a functional bore.Specifications
