Description
8/15/23 - This is an original WW2 Japanese Type 30 Training bayonet. The bayonet is a "training" example due to the unsharpened, blunt blade edge. The bayonet is also stamped on the pommel with a small Japanese proof character and "HB 172" instead of a standard series marking. The spine of the handle has a post-factory added stamp that appears to read, "JM Courts J.C.". The hooked cross guard, two piece contoured wood grips with screws, and bird's head pommel all indicate variation F according to Labar's book. The blade is bright and fullered with some mild surface patina throughout. Comes with a black painted metal scabbard with a ball-tip. Great overall condition despite some mild wear and aging throughout.Specifications
