Description
9/9/24 - This is a rare and desirable Colt Cavalry Single Action Army revolver from 1885. All exposed numbers match but the barrel is mismatched. It is DFC inspector marked like the rest of the revolver, so may have been done at an arsenal. It is "US" Property marked on the frame with "G", "P", and "DFC" martial markings. The bottom edge of the left grip panel is also "DFC" marked. There are military cartouches on both grip panels, but the left is in an oval, the right is in a rectangle. The gun is entirely matching but has lost nearly all of its finish. There is spotty oxidation and brown "attic patina" throughout. A few small areas with tiny pits here and there. The wood grips are in nice condition overall, but show signs of age. The bore is mostly shiny with strong rifling, but there are small spots of surface oxidation here and there. Fully functional.Specifications
