SOLD - T98 Japanese Katana with Field Scabbard

9/1/22 - This is an original Type 98 Japanese Army Officer's Sword with field scabbard. The blade is factory made and in great condition. The tempered edge is in good condition and visible throughout. The edge has no nicks or damage, but there are a few small areas of oxidation and mild surface discoloration along the edge. Clean finish overall with no rust or pitting. The hand guard and is in good condition with some surface patina and edge wear. Some of the spacers are numbered with a "3", and this matches the number on the mouth of the "Tsuka" (handle). The wrap has some mild surface wear and signs of handling, but no major damage. The scabbard has nice, original leather and stitching intact. There's mild surface wear, wrinkling, and surface cracking but no major issues. The tang is signed and stamped with a factory character.
