Description
9/11/24 - This is an excellent rare transitional Eickhorn SA dagger. The transitional daggers were made in the late 1930's early 1940's, and were the result of the dagger manufacturers pushing back against the RZM system. These makers wanted to keep their logos and not become part of the RZM code system. Eventually the RZM system succeeded and these manufacturers were forced to adopt the system. As a result of this pushback this blade is double stamped with the "RZM M7/66" and the Eickhorn logo. The blade on this dagger is in excellent condition, there is some wear from scabbard use and some shadowing, but the factory cross graining is still visible. The moto and the makers marks are strong and still easily legible. The fittings on this piece are correct, and there are a few spots of finish loss, but overall are in great condition. The scabbard is straight with no dents and the original paint is in excellent condition, with only minor areas of paint loss. The ball point on the tip of the scabbard has two small dents. The grip on this dagger is also in excellent overall condition with no chipping to the wood, and the SA and Eagle medallions are still present and are not loose.Specifications
