Description
9/28/23 - This is an original WW2 production SA Dagger made by a fairly scarce maker, Gebr. Born. This example is also desirable because it has a period-correct dedication inscribed on the backside of the lower crossguard. The inscription roughly translates to, "For merits in Wf. Storm 3/R 174". So this dagger was likely awarded to a member of the SA who served valiantly during an engagement. The dagger blade has some light surface scratches and scabbard rub wear, most of which is concentrated near the tip. There's visible cross graining throughout the blade, and minimal discoloration. The nickel cross guards are early style and show light tarnishing. Nice wood handle that has a few minor chips along the base of the wood, and a slightly larger chip on the front of the handle, near the SA emblem. Comes with an early anodized scabbard that has light surface wear and natural patina throughout.Specifications
