Description
10/10/24 - This is a Remington Model 1858 Army Revolver from the Civil War. Chambered in .44 Caliber. There is a serial number on the underside of the barrel and reads "48895". The gun is fully functional. What is interesting about this particular piece is that the entire gun has a bright fire-blued finish. We can't tell if it is a refinish or not. If it was refinished, it was done a very long time ago, as evidenced by the obvious signs of wear and age. It bares mentioning that aren't many signs of refinish - the edges are sharp and the markings are crisp. In any case, the bluing has a very nice fire-blue color to it. However, there is spotty wear, discoloration, and patina throughout. Fitted with nice wood grips - there are two seemingly intentional triangular cutouts on the bottom edges. The rifling in the bore is strong, but there is light spotty surface oxidation. Fully functional. No FFL required.Specifications
