Description
11/11/24 - This is a very good example of a private purchase WW1 Prussian Officer's Pickelhaube. The helmet shell is pressed blackened leather with some typical exterior cracking and wrinkling throughout. The backside shows a few scuffs and areas of discoloration and texture. This is generally mild however, and the shell is in very good overall condition with mild pliability. The crown features 2 star-shaped rivets (each star with 8 points), 2 replacement rivets, and a removeable top spike. The back spine of the shell is unvented and has a small dent but is in great overall condition. . The front Prussian imperial eagle is in great condition and secure. The (correctly) magnetic cockades are original and have excellent color. The chinstrap has black leather base which is topped by silver color scales. Overall a very good condition example of a Prussian Officer Pickelhaube.Specifications
