10/4/23 - This is a rare variation, pre/early WW1 production experimental canvas m1911 pistol holster by Mills. The holster features an all-canvas construction with a metal (brass) swivel-locking closure knob and metal toe for structure. The original bluing is mostly intact throughout the brass, with some natural aging and mild finish loss throughout. The Mills bullet logo is found on the toe exterior, and the interior canvas has a distinct Mills logo and 1914 date. Especially rare and desirable on this example is the pivoting closure knob, which can "lock" in place to secure the holster closure. This design obviously didn't last, as we were unable to find other examples with this style closure knob. A highly collectible example.
