Description
10/4/21 - This is a rare US Experimental helmet for use during WW1. Developed in 1917 and 1918, this is one of 15 numbered helmet prototypes the US made. The No. 5 was rejected by the US military due to being too similar to the German helmet and not distinguishable from the British helmet. About 2000 of these were made. The helmet has a rough exterior with mild patina. The interior consists of three leather pads, which are still present although they have significant signs of aging. The chin strap is still completely in tact despite surface wear and some cracking.Specifications
