Description
12/4/24 - This is a really good example of a WW2 German SA Belt. This belt is made from an ersatz plastic like material. Ersatz items were common during the war as materials such as leather in this case became scarce. This belt still has its RZM paper tag attached to it. The metal piece on the belt that would attach to the buckle is still present but does have oxidation on it. Belt is approximately 124 cm in length, and still has decent pliability, but is getting stiff with age. The SA were the original paramilitary wing of the Nazi Party in Germany during the 1920's-40's. They were often referred to as "Hitler's Brown Shirts" or his "Bully Boys". The SA were the originators of the more well known SS. The SA would go on to have a smaller role within the party after the rise of the SS and the purge of the SA leadership. The SA was eventually dissolved in May of 1945 at the end of the war.Specifications
