Description

10/26/23 - This is an original inert M6A1 anti-tank round, made for the U.S. army during WW2. The 2.36" round consists of a head, a stabilizer tube, and tail, and measures approximately 22" in length. It has been painted red. SIMCO markings can still be seen on two parts of the stabilizer tube. The M6A1 was the second projectile designed for the M1 and M1A1 bazooka family. The original M6 was notoriously unreliable, both with the launch and detonation. The M6A1 had improved fuse and ignition designs to help get rid of this problem. Was eventually replaced with the round-headed M6A3, which had a blunt head intended to help prevent deflection off of armor.
