10/30/20 - This is a beautiful Hunter's Hirschfanger, one of a kind from the WW1 era. Made in Germany / Austria. Custom made by a jeweler / engraver. The engraving is very intricate and a beautiful work of art. The bone / antler handle has a reposing dog on the pommel and foxes on the hand guard. Clamshell picture of dogs taking down a pig. The scabbard is ornate as well with oak leaves and acorn engraving and a second compartment for a skinning knife. The blades are beautiful and mint condition, as shown. Almost zero oxidation or loss of plating on the blade. the leather frog has some light surface wrinkling and cracking in the leather but is still in tact. The leather cover on the scabbard neck has similar surface wear but no serious damage. A beautiful collectible and display-worthy piece.Specifications
