SOLD - Rare BYF 45 K98 Rifle

11/17/23 - This is a rare Mauser BYF marked rifle from 1945, made right before the war ended. Most of the 1945 dated Mauser K98's were SVW code stamped. The proof marks are Eagle/135. This example most likely started production at the end of 1944 and was then finished up by January of 1945. The finish is dual tone with both blued and phosphate parts. The rear sight base & adjuster, floorplate, trigger guard, barrel bands, and bolt assembly are phosphate. The other parts are blued. We rate the overall finish around 96-98% with some patina on the butt plate, barrel and barrel bands, but most of the finish is intact. The bore is shiny and minty condition, we rate 10/10. The gun is all matching, except for the stock which we're told is Steyr, based on the style of the stock and Eagle/H proof stamp. The stock has no cracks or chips. Mechanically sound.
