Description

4/13/26- For sale is a traditional Japanese sword from the 1600s. The blade is clean, with extremely light patina and wear and perhaps one tiny chip. A tag on the scabbard identifies the sword as having come from the 1661-1673 period, and a separate expert also evaluated the sword as having come from the 1600s. The handle is traditionally wrapped with silk cord around a textured leather. Some of the cord wrapping is worn smooth, meaning the wrap is well-aged, although not likely to be 400 years old. The scabbard is metal and has a small clasp to hold the bar on the hilt to keep the sword in the scabbard. Overall in excellent condition.
