Description

9/8/21 - This is a nice example of an interesting Walther P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. It is all matching and has the proper "Eagle 359". The slide legend has a two-line "ac 44". It looks like it initially read "43" but was stamped over to read "44". We are not sure if this is a factory error or if this is a very rare variation that we have not yet encountered. Either way, it is a fascinating gun that we've never seen. It has retained roughly 75-80% of its original finish. There is noticeable spotty wear and oxidation throughout, most noticeable on the front strap and on the right side of the slide. Comes with nice black grips (minor scratches throughout) and a period-correct magazine. The bore has strong rifling with areas of very minor pin-pricking here and there. De-cocker is functional.
