Description
10/5/21 - This is a nice example of a scarce all-phosphate "SVW 45" Mauser P.38 made at the end of the war in 1945. There is only one "Waffen 135" military acceptance proof on the right side of the slide, indicating it was never actually issued to the military. We believe the gun is matching, but the serial number on the frame looks like a factory double-stamp. The numbers are mostly the same, but there is a "9" in there. Very interesting factory mistake. These phosphate finishes are a little difficult to rate, but we estimate that it has retained about 90%. Most of the finish loss is on the front strap. While there isn't much actual finish loss, there is noticeable spotty oxidation throughout. Comes with nice black bakelite grips that look like they've been cut down and a rare late-war phosphate "U" marked magazine. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling. De-cocker is functional.Specifications
