SOLD - Nazi Spreewerk P.38 (5283c - 17961)

Description

11/10/21 - This is a very nice example of a Spreewerk P.38 issued to the Nazi military in May of 1943. It is all matching and has the proper "Eagle 88" Nazi military acceptance proofs. It also has an "asterisk" proof on the left side of the frame, indicating that it failed initial inspection and was sent back to the factory for repair. It has retained about 92% of its finish. The profile views are excellent, as most of the finish loss is on the front strap where the wear patterns are spotty. There is also heavy spotty oxidation on the front strap and underside of the frame. There is very minor wear on the high edges of the slide and around the muzzle. A couple of small areas on the right side of the slide with very minor pitting. Comes with excellent bakelite grips and a period-correct magazine. The bore has good rifling with minor freckling throughout. De-cocker is functional.
