Description
12/15/21 - This is a nice example of a scarce DWM "American Eagle" Model 1906 Luger sold in the US commercial market in the early 1900's. These pistols went to the US retail market and the manufacturers at DWM realized that nation-based crests increased sales of these lugers, so that is why you find the American Eagle over the chamber. This is also why you see GERMANY marked on the frame, denoting these were exported for commercial sale. This one is all matching and has the proper "Crown BUG" proofs throughout. It has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its original finish. Most of the finish loss is on the front strap, where there is an area of heavy oxidation. There is minor wear on the side plate, side rails, and around the muzzle. Tiny dots of oxidation on the whole surface of the gun. Comes with period-correct wood grips - the left panel is sanded and notched in two places to improve grip. Also comes with a period-correct wood-bottom magazine - half of the wood bottom has chipped off. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling.Specifications
