Description
1/26/22 - This is a nice example of an Arisaka Type 99 issued to the Japanese military during WW2. The gun is almost entirely mismatched but does have an intact Imperial mum stamp on the receiver. We are not sure about this marking. It looks like the chamber may have been buffed and the markings reapplied, but we cannot say for sure. The gun comes with a period-correct cleaning rod, bayonet, bayonet scabbard, and dust cover (not matching to the gun). The most obvious sign of wear is spotty oxidation on most of the metal parts. There is some light surface rust on the front sight, both barrel bands, sling swivels, and butt plate. Heavy brown patina on the butt plate as well. There is some spotty wear and discoloration on the chamber. Nice stock with minor dings, dents, and bruises throughout. Small repaired crack on the right side of the stock, adjacent to the action. The rifling in the bore is worn, and there is heavy oxidation throughout.Specifications
