Description
9/17/26 - This is a very nice example of a first-gen Colt Frontier Six Shooter revolver, manufactured in 1901. Chambered in .44-40 with a 4.75" barrel. All matching. According to the included factory letter, it was shipped to the Walther G Clark Co in Omaha, Nebraska on December 13, 1901. It has retained roughly 60-65% of its original finish. The finish loss is concentrated mostly along the barrel and on the frame. Thinning and brown patina on the grip straps. Some of the original case-hardening is visible in the crevices on the frame. Fitted with correct blackish-brown hard rubber grips. The bore is mostly shiny with strong rifling, but there are areas of noticeable pitting and oxidation. Fully functional.
